COMMUNITY RESILIENCE VOLUNTEER WEEK 16-20 August 2019
The BCI-Business Continuity Institute of UK will be having the World Wide Community Resilience Volunteer Week as from 16-20 August 2019. The event is sought to provide attendees from NGOs, Government, Social organizations, Communities and Nonprofit Organizations with an opportunity to gain an insight to achieve a better understanding of the processes and systems which must be implemented in order to tackle a disruptive incident in their respective organizations.
What Is Community Resilience Volunteer Week
The main objective of this community Resilience week is to help organizations, communities and societies to have a general awareness on Organizational Resilience and Business Continuity Management Systems.
Community Resilience Volunteer Week (CRVW) encourages Business Continuity and Resilience professionals to participate in pro bono work to enable communities to benefit from their valuable skillsets.
In that context, Life Continuity which is the Licensed Training Partner of the Business Continuity Institute of UK will be organizing a series of free presentations of a duration of 2 to 2 half hours during the CRVW week on “How Organizational Resilience and Business Continuity Management can benefit the Non Profit organizations.
Objectives Of The Presentation
As per my observations, I found that the members of your Association are doing a lot of social work at Societal level and with the main objective of having a more resilient society . In order to attain those objectives by individual members, they themselves have to be resilient and must be able to continue their critical operations during a major incident like flooding, flashflood, fire, tsunami, accident, man made incidents, technical incidents etc.
The awareness presentation will cover the different components of a Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) which has to be put in place in order to reduce the risk of business interruption and how to continue the operation of their Mission Critical Activities.
We will also demonstrate what differentiates a crisis from an incident, an emergency or a disaster, and how crises can develop.
